March 2014 Selwyn (Smith Ennismore Lakefield) Real Estate Statistic Report

Sorry this is so late coming out. I usually like having it out day one or two of the month. I sold my parents home and guess who got nominated to get them moved. Now that task is complete here is the March report.

(Peterborough and the Kawartha's, March 2013 compared to March 2014)

• Total # of new listings -8%
• Total # of listings YTD -10%
• Total # of sales in Feb -10%
• Total # of sales YTD -8%

I thought the numbers looked bad in February, well they are worse in March. I still am pointing a finger at mother nature. In February I was hoping for warm weather in March, it never happened. Here it is April 10th and it is just starting to break double digits temperature wise.  As soon as we get some warmth, the market will be ludicrous. These comments are for Rural Peterborough, not City of Peterborough. The city market is strong as ever.
