Tamarac Golf Club- Tamarac is near and dear to my heart as this is my "home" golf course. I call it my "home" golf course as it was my first play and membership. I have not been golfing for awhile but I might go for a round with these deals! Keep in mind if you had a bad experience at Tamarac in the past like I did, there is new owners working hard to get your business back.

The Ennismore Journal-How lucky we are in Ennismore to have the Robert E. Young Recreation Complex

Every community requires recreation and leisure opportunities. Having a healthy complex promotes play as an important role in our community. The complex also promotes physical activity, healthy lifestyles, to interact with one another, and to appreciate our natural environment.
In Ennismore we have this complex known as the Robert E. Young Recreation Complex. You can find this recreation comlex the 553 Ennis Road in Ennismore Ontario. This complex offers many different activities and playing surfaces. Of coarse everyone knows the hockey arena and the curling club.

Looking past the two major buildings you will find a basket ball court, tennis courts, play grounds, two ball diamonds, soccer pitches and a tractor pull track for the Shamrock Festival.
Check out the area from the sky!

BRADBLOG.ca:The James A Gifford Causeway saga update, 2 Peterborough listings you should check out, Algonquin Park visit

Update on the Causeway Sega.

I thought I seen new signs up earlier this week when crossing the causeway. The signs were too small to read driving. I took a walk down to the causeway today to check out what has been done on the Ennismore side. Going into Rotary Park I did see a few new no trash signs.

Under the signs I seen no garbage other then.....you guessed it. Styrofoam worm containers.

The conclusion we came up with the County of Peterborough was not a fishing ban on the causeway. What was agreed to was a no trespassing ban on the causeway. The signs are very small, unnoticeable and wrong. It should say “no trespassing” not “no fishing”. It seems staff is doing the very minimum that was agreed to. It is sad. Why not place signs large enough to be noticed? That said there is signs and they must be obeyed. Speaking to an OPP officer there is a law and fine for ignoring signs so if you see anyone on the causeway don’t be afraid to call on the OPP non-emergency line 705-292-8748 or 1-888-310-1122 to report it. My understanding that a security company was to be hired to ask people to move on from the causeway if spotted but I have not heard what is happening on that front. The County is also to place garbage cans out but again I do not know when that will happen. The fishing sanctuary ban finishes this weekend so we will see what happens.

Update!
I may have spoke too soon. I was just coming across the causeway now and some more signs are up. The No Trespassing signs are up and they are easily read! I will have to retract what I said and my apologies given to the staff of Peterborough County!

Early Visit to Algonquin Park

Last weekend my kids begged to go to Algonquin Park. They just love the park, woods, nature and hiking paths. It was a georgous day we took the drive up. It was t-shirt weather with no bugs! We did walk the Bog Path. The Bog path runs through swamps and water courses. It was a good time to take this hike as the path was not icy, no bug and open. We also visited the Visiting Centre and it was as quiet as I ever seen it. It was just a good head clearing experience!
