Monday Motivation Time!

I hope you had an amazing weekend!
Happy Monday! I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always I like to start the week off right with some words of inspiration....
I saw this quote online and wanted to share....
"If You Want Something You've Never Had You Have To Do Something You've Never Done"
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result....
In order to create something new, we must do something new.... Let today be the day that you decide to start taking action on the things you know you MUST be doing in order to create the life you truly want to create!
Have an amazing week and if you need anything please feel free to reach out anytime! My cell is 705-927-6236

Monday Modivation

Happy Monday! I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always I like to start the week off right with some words of inspiration!
Winston Churchill has a famous quote where he said "If You're Going Through Hell, Keep Going"....
So many people in life do not succeed as they quit once life gets hard. Just remember if it were easy, everyone would be doing it! Keep pushing, never quit and overcoming those painful times will become your greatest assets in life!
Have an amazing week!

My Journey to my fitness goals

This year has been life changing. I have worked on myself more then ever by concentrating and building a plan in four areas of my life. I been working on all these areas of my life very hard. The four areas in my life I have worked on is:

  1. Family Life
  2. Business Life
  3. Spirituality (my mind)
  4. Health and Fitness
Though out the year I worked on 1 through 3. I feel I have created and implemented great plans on how to move forward everyday in these areas. As I said these areas of concentration has been life changing but I hit a wall with Health and Fitness.

I know nothing about Health and Fitness really. When I was younger I was active and did not have to worry about weight. Now that I am 41, I am still really active but I am packing on pounds and have a really nice round belly. That has to change.

I needed to make a plan as I did with 1-3. I have found with everything else a coach or a mentor is the way to go for true success. So I decided to contact Mark Cleary at Goodlife in Peterborough. I met with Mark and he seen and understood my vision. I was lucky as Mark made time for me. I signed on with him for a year with a goal in mind and looking to tap his great knowledge of looking after your body so your mind will be sharp. I need to be energized with my body to be able to keep up with the demands of the other 3 areas of my life.

I finished my second day of training today and thought I would blog about this experience. I think that others may find what I am doing inspirational, funny or they may shake their head and wonder why I would do this to myself. (then to even blog about it)

So here we go:

Monday rolls around. I am busy but I now have a time commitment with Mark so I leave to go to the gym. If I did not have to meet Mark I would never have gone. Too busy. I met Mark right at 10 am and we start right at it. I warm up and Mark has me on assisted chin lifts. Assisted my ass, it was everything I had to give to do those lifts. Mark made sure my posture was correct and he pushed me farther then I would have ever gone myself. Despite of my whining Mark encouraged 3 more. From there we worked on squats and lunges. Ever had a shaky legs? Try squats, wow. From there we worked on boxing strikes. That was my favorite.  I will admit I was keeping an eye on clock like a dog tired UFC fighter in the 3rd round. The hour ended and Mark was off to his next client. I had a hell of a time picking myself off the floor. Mark kept telling me the first workout is the worst and I got through it. Thank god.

I got back to the office and I was shaky. Then I was sleepy. My body seemed to be revolting. I eat lunch a few hours later and felt better but started to stiffen up. The next day was stiff as well. Not so much muscles but tendons. I was sore for the day.

I woke up Wednesday and it was the same as Monday. Busy. But I had a time commitment and Mark expected me to be there. I was also soar and stiff. I could have made a million excuses but again my coach was waiting. When our session started I told Mark about my pains. I was warmed up so he said it was safe to stretch out the pain. We did and it felt great stretching the tendons. I was all happy and feeling good and Mark said start your lunges. Shit. OK. I said I was expecting sympathy and Mark just smiled and started counting. We worked on different areas and muscles. Mark pushed me to the limit. You know what, it was not as bad as the first day. Don't get me wrong, it was a killer workout but it did not seem as bad as day one. That said I was extremely shaky again after the workout. This time I ate sooner and the shakes went away quicker.

I am at a start of a journey that to me is going to be interesting. I will blog my experience and let you know how I am making out. I am going to be one of those stories, if I can do it, so can you. With this blog you will now know what to expect.

Monday Motivation!! Brad Sinclair

What is up my Friend!

Happy Monday morning! I wanted to start this week off right with sending some words of inspiration!

So often in life... we live in our past... we let our past define us and in turn we allow our past to set limitations on what we can accomplish in the future...

You are NOT your past! There is a reason the rear view mirror is 10 times smaller than the windshield... use it to reflect and learn... then stay fully focused on creating the future you want!

Do not dwell on it... but instead use it as motivation... "The Only Time You Should Ever Look Back, Is To See How Far You've Come!"

Go DOMINATE!

Ennismore Arena opening delay for the season protest

To all EMHA, EGHA families and supporters of minor sports in Selwyn. Please come to the Council Meeting THIS TUESDAY JULY 14 @ 730pm to show your support. Information is contained in the Email below from Steph:
Help Us Get Our Arena Opened On Time!!!
This year the Township of Selwyn has decided that the Ennismore Arena will not open until September 21st and will open Lakefield Arena on September 1st .
As a result EMHA and EGHA will be forced to hold tryouts and skill sessions in arenas outside of the Ennismore Community. The EMHA and EGHA represented by their presidents, Andrew Winslow and Stephanie Serra, are coming before Council to request that the Ennismore Arena be opened September 1st. as per usual, in order to hold our tryouts and skills sessions in our own Arena.
Facts:
· Approximately 400 children play hockey for the Ennismore Eagles (typically EMHA registers 300 players, and EGHA 100 players)
· Last year the Lakefield Minor Hockey Association registered 150 players and the Lakefield Chiefs 24 players
· At the 2015 Scheduling Meeting in June:
o Ennismore requested 101 hours of ice for the month of September for both EMHA and EGHA
o Lakefield requested 30 hours of ice for the month of September for both LMHA and the Lakefield Chiefs
· Ennismore Arena is a larger facility and therefore costs more to operate than Lakefield Arena
If you would like to see the Ennismore Arena open September 1st – Please come and show your Councillors this is an issue that matters to Ennismore Eagles families! The more people we have in support the stronger our case will be.
Selwyn Council Meeting
Tuesday July 14, 7:00pm
EMHA and EGHA submission 7:30pm
